The News-Press & Gazette Co. traces its beginnings to a frontier newspaper established in 1845 – just two years after the founding of the city of St. Joseph along the banks of the Missouri River.

Headquartered in St. Joseph, the company has been owned and operated since 1939 by the Bradley family, now in its fourth generation. Still going strong in the newspaper business, the NPG family has grown to include cable, internet, broadcast and commercial printing operations, spanning several states.

The company’s successful steps towards diversification in both its mature and emerging communications businesses have provided a solid foundation for growth. Yet, it takes greatest pride in the quality of its employees – those who have served it so well and those joining the staff now who will make important contributions in the future.
